Cu Chi Tunnels, More Great Food, Cyclo Riding and Grandma

Getting down in the Cu Chi tunnels once used by Viet Cong. We could barely fit through and lower ourselves through the original opening. Nowadays, the tunnels have been enlarged--like American waistlines--to accommodate McDonald's-grubbing tourists. Even so, it was uncomfortable crouching as we waddled through the tunnel.

Here's the whole family chowing down on delicious seafood and beef salad, and drinking beer poured in a glass with a giant ice cube (hope the tap water's OK!).

Of course, you gotta try to try every part--that's a fish eyeball I'm about to eat. :)

Yummmm! More great food and cold--sorta--beer. That's Lynda on the left--she's the bride-to-be.

Here's Pam getting to know grandma (that is, Lynda's grandmother). Grandma can count to ten in English, and we can count to ten--and above--in Vietnamese. After that, it's all sign language--and that's all you need to know to realize that this little spitfire has an indominatable spirit at a youthful 88.

Getting a ride in a cyclo while swarms of motorbike traffic whiz by. Sometimes, traffic or a construction site forced to divert onto the sidewalk.

Pam sporting the local headgear. Doesn't she look cute in a conical hat?
